Overview
Recently, NSFOCUS CERT detected an Authentication Bypass vulnerability in VMware Aria Operations for Networks.
Due to the lack of unique cryptographic key generation, Aria Operations for Networks is susceptible to an authentication bypass vulnerability. Attackers with network access to Aria Operations for Networks could bypass SSH authentication to gain access to the Aria Operations for Networks CLI. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to configuration modifications, malicious software installation, or manipulation of leaked data on the target system. A proof of concept (PoC) for this vulnerability has been publicly disclosed.
Aria Operations for Networks is a multi-cloud network intelligence operations tool from VMware. It offers a comprehensive network intelligence management solution designed to optimize network operational efficiency, enhance network service quality, effectively improve enterprise business outcomes, and user satisfaction. It also provides value-added features such as custom reports, data analysis, and operational services, expanding the capabilities of network management and supporting integration with other VMware platforms. It is suitable for network environments of all sizes, including enterprises, cloud providers, and service providers.
