Anti-terror hackers tested their capabilities on the BBC with a DDoS attack

The BBC has been victim of a testy hacker group that used the media outfit’s systems to test their own capabilities. They said “The reason we really targeted [the] BBC is because we wanted to see our actual server power.” Our security expert and director Dave Martin pointed out that a worrisome trend in recent attacks if for threat actors to use the DDoS attack as a smokescreen or distraction to hide other malicious activities.
