NSFOCUS Recognized by Gartner® “Hype Cycle™ for APIs, 2025” for API Threat Protection

Recently, Gartner released “Hype Cycle for APIs, 2025”, NSFOCUS was selected as a Representative vendor in API Threat Protection of Hype Cycle with its cloud-native API security solution. We believe, this recognition reflects NSFOCUS’s comprehensive strength in API security technology innovation research, and continuous accumulation and achievements in API security protection practices in cloud-native environments.

With the rapid development of digitalization, API is a key interface connecting microservices, and its security issues are increasingly receiving widespread attention. For example, in a cloud-native environment, API assets are not visible, resulting in the inability to locate the intrusion location in time, thus missing the best processing time and causing certain risks. Another example is frequent access to an API, or using unauthorized access vulnerabilities in the API to download large amounts of data. There will be a risk of interface instability and sensitive data leakage.

NSFOCUS Cloud-Native API solution (CNAPI) is mainly aimed at full traffic protection solutions under cloud-native API scenarios. This solution adapts to the general containerization of applications in cloud-native environments, microservice-oriented architecture, container orchestration and scheduling, and solves the problem of difficult protection of lateral traffic between microservices. At present, it has been innovatively piloted in the financial industry to help users build stable and reliable cloud-native API security protection to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of core microservice business data.

The innovative solution supports two deployment scenarios. One is to adapt to the Ingress vertical traffic protection scenario, and hijack and process malicious traffic by adding a security container to the Ingress Pod in bypass networking mode.

Another is adapted to the omnidirectional API traffic protection scenario, by deploying Daemonset security containers on each Kubernetes node to achieve malicious traffic hijacking and processing.

NSFOCUS will keep focus on customer needs and commit to building a more developed cloud-native security ecosystem.
