Cisco Common Service Platform Collector Default Password Vulnerability (CVE-2019-1723) Threat Alert

Overview

Cisco officially released a security advisory, announcing the fix of a vulnerability (CVE-2019-1723) existing in the Cisco Common Service Platform Collector (CSPC).

This vulnerability exists because the affected software has a default account with a fixed password. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to remotely access an affected device by using this account. This account does not have administrative privileges.

  • Cisco CSPC releases 2.7.x <= 2.7.4.5
  • Cisco CSPC releases 2.8.x < 2.8.1.2

Unaffected Versions

  • Cisco CSPC releases 2.7.4.6
  • Cisco CSPC releases 2.8.1.2

Solution

Cisco has released new versions to fix the preceding vulnerability. Users of the affected versions are advised to upgrade as soon as possible.
