ADS M supports standalone management and cluster management. In standalone management mode, ADS M manages a single ADS in an in-path or out-of-path deployment. In cluster management mode, ADS M manages multiple ADSs as a cluster for automatic synchronization of device configuration and protocol synchronization among these ADSs. The following describes how to configure stand-alone management and cluster management on ADS and ADS M.
Configuring ADS
In both standalone management and cluster management modes, perform the following configuration on ADS:
Step 1: Choose System > Management Mode, and click Add in the lower right of the Management Mode table.
Step 2: In the Add Mgmt Mode Config page, fill in the information according to the actual situation.
Configuring ADS M
Perform the following configuration on ADS M.
- If you want to add an ADS device:
Choose Device Management > ADS Device, and click Add Device. In the displayed Add dialog box, fill in the information according to the actual situation and click OK.
- If you want to add a cluster:
Step 1: Add a cluster. Choose Device Management > ADS Device, and click Add Cluster.
In the ADS Cluster dialog box, fill in the information and select the configuration items that need to be synchronized according to the actual situation and click OK. After being added, the cluster will appear in the navigation pane under ADS Device.
Step 2: Add an ADS device to the cluster. There are two ways to add devices to a cluster.
Option 1: Choose Device Management > ADS Device, and click Add Device to add an ADS device. Note that Cluster should be selected for Management Mode in the displayed Add dialog box, as shown in the following figure.
Option 2: Click the added cluster and then click Add Device. Multiple ADS devices can be added to each cluster, one of which is the primary device (“Master” on the web-based manager), and other devices in the cluster are secondary devices (“Backup” on the web-based manager), and the configuration is synchronized from the primary to the secondary. When there are several ADS devices in the cluster, you can specify or change the primary ADS device.
