Overview

Recently, NSFOCUS CERT detected that Palo Alto Networks issued a security announcement and fixed the identity bypass vulnerability in PAN-OS (CVE-2025-0108). Due to the problem of path processing by Nginx/Apache in PAN-OS, unauthenticated attackers can bypass authentication to access the management web interface of PAN-OS device and call some PHP scripts, thus obtaining sensitive system data or exploiting background vulnerabilities. The CVSS score is 7.8. At present, the vulnerability details and PoC have been made public. Relevant users are requested to take measures for protection as soon as possible.

Palo Alto Networks is a world-renowned network security manufacturer, and PAN-OS is an operating system developed by Palo Alto Networks for its firewall devices.

Mitigation

Official upgrade

At present, a new version has been officially released to fix this vulnerability. Please upgrade the protection for affected users as soon as possible.

In view of the above vulnerabilities, NSFOCUS Web Application Firewall (WAF) historical general rules support protection. Please keep upgrading the rule package to form security product protection capabilities.

Temporary protective measures

If relevant users are temporarily unable to perform upgrade operations, access restrictions can be imposed on the management web interface for temporary relief.
