Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Recently, NSFOCUS CERT detected that VMware issued a security announcement and fixed multiple high-risk vulnerabilities (CVE-2025-22224\/CVE-2025-22225\/CVE-2025-22226) in VMware ESXi&Workstation&Fusion. At present, all the 3 vulnerabilities have been found to be exploited in the wild. Please take protective measures as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CVE-2025-22224<\/strong>: There is a TOCTOU (CheckTime-of-use) write vulnerability in VMware ESXi and Workstation. An attacker with virtual machine management permissions can execute arbitrary code through the VMX process running on the host. CVSS score was 9.3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CVE-2025-22225<\/strong>: There is an arbitrary write vulnerability in VMware ESXi. Attackers with VMX process privileges can implement sandbox escape by triggering any kernel write. CVSS score is 8.2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CVE-2025-22226<\/strong>: There is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the HGFS, and attackers with virtual machine management permission can obtain memory information through the VMX process. CVSS score is 7.1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
