Customers can enable SMTP functionality to ensure timely receipt of alert notifications and device logs. Below are the steps to configure SMTP functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Configuring an SMTP Server<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. Choose Administration<\/strong> > Third-Party Interface<\/strong> > Email Service<\/strong> and click SMTP Server<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Configure parameters<\/p>\n\n\n

Parameters for configuring an SMTP server：<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parameter<\/strong><\/td>Description<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/thead>
SMTP Server Address<\/td>Specifies the IP address or domain name of the server for sending email messages. For IP addresses, you can type either an IPv4 or IPv6 address. This field is mandatory.<\/td><\/tr>
Port<\/td>Specifies the port number of the SMTP server for sending email messages. The default port is 25<\/strong>. When Secure by SSL<\/strong> is selected, this value automatically changes to 465<\/strong>. This field is mandatory.<\/td><\/tr>
From<\/td>Specifies the email address from which logs are sent. This field is mandatory.<\/td><\/tr>
Authentication Method<\/td>Specifies the authentication method, which can be one of the following:
Secure by SSL<\/strong>: If this option is selected, SMTP sessions are encrypted via SSL. STARTTLS<\/strong>: If this option is selected, emails are sent via StartTLS.
Identity Authentication<\/strong>: If this option is selected, you need to configure the username and password for sending email messages.<\/td><\/tr>
Username\/Password<\/td>Specifies the username and password for sending email messages. These two fields are available only when you select Identity Authentication<\/strong>.<\/a> Some mail service providers may provide a specific SMTP password instead of using an email login password directly.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

3. Click Save<\/strong> to commit the settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(1) After the SMTP server is configured, you can click Send Test Mail<\/strong> to check whether the parameter settings are correct.<\/p>\n\n\n

(2) Click Send<\/strong>. NTA will send the test mail to the specified email address if the parameters are correctly set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The message “Sent” is displayed when the test email is sent successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n
