When working with the ADS, it is important to understand the role of the “Apply<\/em> ” and “Save<\/em>” buttons located in the upper-right corner of the configuration pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apply<\/strong>: Clicking the “Apply<\/em>†button will apply and enforce the configuration changes, making them effective in the RAM of the ADS. These changes will take effect immediately and will be used until the system is shutdown or restarted. However, if the system is restarted, the running configuration in RAM will be overwritten with the saved configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save<\/strong>: Clicking the “Save<\/em>†button will save the current configuration to the system config file which is stored on disk. This ensures that the configuration changes are permanently stored and will remain intact even after a system restart. Upon restart, the configuration from the system config file will be loaded and activated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important to note that whenever changes are made to the ADS configuration, such as modifying the policy or adjusting the settings, these changes are not automatically saved or applied. To ensure that the changes take effect, you must manually click both the “Apply<\/em>†and “Save<\/em>†buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Failure to click both the “Apply<\/em>†and “Save<\/em>†buttons after making configuration changes can result in the changes being lost or not taking effect.
