Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On March 31, 2020, local time, Google published an advisory, announcing that the newest version of Chrome 80.0.3987.162 to be rolled out in the coming days would address eight security vulnerabilities. Now this version has been released.<\/p>\n

The most severe of these vulnerabilities could allow attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the browser.<\/p>\n

The advisory, in particular, describes three high-severity vulnerabilities discovered by external researchers, including two use-after-free (UAF) vulnerabilities (CVE-2020-6450 and CVE-2020-6451) in the WebAudio component of Chrome, which could lead to an application crash and potential arbitrary code execution. Another vulnerability is a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the Media component (CVE-2020-6452).<\/p>\n
